Critical Care Complex (ITU/HDU)

The Critical Care Complex normally runs with a total of 19 beds (with capacity for 20) and is organised into 11 High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds and eight Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) beds. The unit is staffed by a highly skilled team of Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Dieticians and other Health Care Professionals.

We can and do use the Critical Care Complex flexibly and we can convert HDU bed capacity into ITU beds as and when required.

The consultant staff are a team of 8 consultants in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care

We do ask that no flowers are brought into the unit and that children under 12 years of age visit by arrangement with the nurse in charge.
