Fundraising jungle trip for staff nurse.
The challenges will include a two day Jungle Trekking Adventure, White Water Rafting in Sabah and, weather permitting, he will be taking up the challenge of climbing the famous Mount Kinabalu from the Timphohon Gate to Lows peak. Phil is funding the trip himself as part of a vacation.
He says: I work as part of the Plastic Surgery team and we help patients to regain form and function following an illness or injury. Its a pleasure to be able to take part in these activities and help the team to develop research studies at the same time.
Mount Kinabalu is located on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia and is the tallest peak in the Borneos Crocker Range. The mountain peaks at 4095m (13500ft) above sea level, which makes it the 20th tallest mountain in the world.
In addition the Padas River offers White Water Rafting in Sabah. (Sungai Padas in Malay) This is one of the top rafting sites located at Pangi which is near Tenom. The Water Rafting will take place over a distance of 9 kilometres with 7 exciting and challenging rapids from class 3 to class 4 increasing to class 5 during rainy season.
