NNUH Radiographer attempts Three Peaks Challenge to help cancer patients
Nigel will be joined by his brother Peter Booth, and brother in law, Peter Heaton as they attempt the National Three Peaks Challenge on 30 July. With support from his niece, Emily Heaton, driving them to the foot of each mountain, the team hope to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland (1344m), Scafell Pike in England (996m) and Snowdon in Wales (723m).
Two months ago Peter Heaton attempted the climb but was unsuccessful due to bad weather. Hes hoping that with a little family support the group of men will complete the three peaks challenge in less than 24 hours. Nigel is an experienced hiker, having spent many walking holidays in Britain. He has also previously walked Hadrians wall for the Help for Heroes charity.
Nigel said: "Im hoping to raise as much money as I can to make patients' journeys through the oncology process easier."
The money raised by the group will be used to improve the treatment available for prostate cancer patients at NNUH. To follow their progress and donate online visit www.justgiving.com/Nigel-Booth0
