Local patients can find out more about infection control at NNUH
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is holding an event from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday 8th July 2008 in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital at Colney Lane in Norwich.
The keynote speaker is Dr Judith Richards, Consultant Medical Microbiologist at the NNUH, who will be describing how the rate of infections is being reduced and how patients, visitors and the public can help.
Dr Richards said: The NHS has made great reductions in the number of hospital acquired infections and the public can help us to reduce those figures further. People can take simple steps, such as washing their hands regularly and taking note of the visiting rules for hospitals.
The event is aimed at people who have joined the Trust as members. Membership is free and open to people who are living in Norfolk or Waveney. Members can join from the age of 12 years. People can join at the meeting or go online at www.nnuh.nhs.uk or ring 0870 707 1628 for a membership form.
Places at the event are limited, so anyone interested in attending should contact the Communications Department to book a place on 01603 287634 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
