Three Ormiston Victory Governors Compete in Fritton Lake Triathlon

Julian Hanson-Smith, Matt Fleming and David Prior, three governors from Ormiston Victory Academy are competing as a team in a forthcoming Triathlon on Sunday June 12th, together running 10km, swimming 1 mile and cycling 40km.

Julian Hanson-Smith has already cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats; as well as walking to the North Pole and climbing Mount Aconcagua in Chile, the highest mountain in the Amercias at just under 23,000 feet.

Matt Fleming, has played cricket for England and was captain of Kent Cricket Club. He is on the MCC Committee, a director of the England and Wales Cricket Board, a frequent traveller to Afghanistan to promote cricket and a massive believer in how the power of sport can change peoples lives.

David Prior was the MP for North Norfolk and is chairman for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. His sporting prowess is limited to a personal struggle to get into league two of the Rossi squash league in North Walsham!

David Prior said "We are all very proud to be governors of the Academy. It is a great school and the students are beginning to achieve outstanding academic results. We want any student who goes to the Academy to be able to look in the mirror and say "I did my best, I gave my all, I aimed high".

The team has so far raised sponsorship of just under £2,000 to be shared equally between the NNUH Norwich Cots for Tots appeal and the Luke Day Adventure Fund, which supports students of the Academy fund extra curricula activities, similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. Anyone wishing to donate can make a donation to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital c/o David Prior or by visiting http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/David-Prior
