Running
Within the academy and the main radiology department we have several keen runners. We have entered relay teams for the local Coltishall relay race and many of us often enter local events. There are a couple of good local running clubs, the nearest being the City of Norwich Athletics Club. Santa Claus is Coming to Town.............................

On Sunday 5 December, when it was approximately minus 2 degrees some of the more committed academy members took to the roads of Bunwell for the annual Bunwell Santa Run. It was a cold start but they soon warmed up - I think the promise of a visit to the pub kept them going. Of course we are talking about athletes so it was hot chocolate at the pub - nothing more.
Come on girls, less talking and more running!
David has had enough.
Dr Amy-Rose Kingston writes about her passion:
'I first started running when I was 11 for Lowestoft athletic club which then merged with Beccles to become Waveney Valley. My main passion was cross country but my attention was drawn to longer distances in 2002 when I returned to UEA to study medicine. I ran my first London marathon in 2004 to raise money for cancer research following the death of my mum to oesophageal cancer. Following this I got the marathon 'bug' and ran the marathon again the following year for asthma UK. Keen to try new courses I dragged my husband to Dusseldorf in Germany to complete the annual race there. I am currently taking a break from running but am looking forward to returning to compete in the Venice marathon.
