Cycling
The radiology department contains a good number of keen fairweather cyclists. Individual riders interests range from fitness/fun to triathlon to timetrialing.
Norwich is a fantastic area for cycling. There are a wealth of quiet country lanes passing through the rolling countryside to the broadlands and the coast. The region has many local cycling clubs. Nearest to the hospital are The Norwich Amateur Bicycle Club (www.norwichabc.co.uk), and Velo Club Norwich (www.vcnorwich.co.uk). Both clubs cater for all and are very welcoming. There is also an active Cyclists Touring Club (CTC) section in Norfolk.
For the racing cyclist there are many local timetrials organised by the local clubs. More unique is the Lotus Cycle Race League (www.lotuscycleracing.org). This series of criteriums is held on the closed circuit of the Lotus Car Factory Test Track. This is a fantastic opportunity to try bunch racing away from the open roads.
