Cystic Fibrosis Survey

Dear Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Service User

We have written a new Infection Control Guideline in order to reduce the risk of lung infection from one person with CF to another. The guideline is both for people visiting the Outpatient Department as well as for those staying in hospital.

The guideline advises that people with CF should avoid visiting public areas in the hospital such as the canteen and hospital shops.

From service user feedback that we have already received, we understand that visiting public areas such as the canteen is very important for many of you. With this in mind, we would like to introduce to you the prospect of wearing coloured wrist bands when in hospital, similar to the ones worn in order to support a charity.

Each of you would be given the option of wearing a bright same coloured wrist band so that you can identify other people with CF and avoid close contact with them when visiting public spaces such as the canteen.

We would like to ask for your views on the wearing of coloured wrist bands when in hospital. The survey is completely anonymous (we will not ask for your name).
Completing the survey will not affect your care in any way.

Thank you for your help.
