Summary

This is a two-day residential course for hospital Consultants and Specialist Registrars of all specialties designed to develop confidence and training skills in the clinical environment. It is particularly aimed at clinical supervisors, educational supervisors and those with junior staff training responsibilities. The course builds upon the fact that any clinical event, whether it is surgical, medical or managerial, can be recognised, used and structured to become a training event, whatever the time pressure. This recognises that time is at a premium in the NHS and a sensible balance between work and training is essential to enable training to take place whilst maintaining work throughput.
