The Board of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust is pleased to announce that Moira Logie, currently Director of Operations for the Medical Division at the Queen's Medical Centre University Hospital, Nottingham, has been appointed to the new position of Director of Operations for the Norfolk and Norwich.

Moira has been Director of Operations for the Medical Division for QMC since December 2000. QMC was the first purpose-built teaching hospital in the UK, and has over 1,300 beds and employs nearly 6,000 people. Prior to that she was Project Director of Cancer Services for United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Director of Operations for Grantham and District Hospital NHS Trust. She has a wealth of experience in planning at operational levels and brings with her significant expertise in working with acute, community and primary and social care.

Moira said: "I am looking forward to working with staff in the Trust to improve services for patients and to share with local partners my experience gained in the provision of services particularly for older people within emergency care."

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust Chairman David Prior said: "We are delighted to appoint Moira. She has considerable experience in leading clinical teams and a very successful track record in achieving operational improvements and efficiencies. I'm sure she will play and important role in the future of this Trust."

The new post of Director of Operations has been created to provide more focused leadership to the clinical divisions and the operations centre and will be responsible for improving performance which will enable the delivery of the service within the Trust. As a member of the Trust Board, Moira will be expected to make a significant contribution to the corporate management of the organisation.

Moira will be relocating to Norfolk with her family and is hoping to join us at the end of this year.
