Five go skydiving
We were on a real high because the jump had already been delayed because of bad weather and we were not sure whether the conditions would be right on the day, said organiser Clair Anderson. As it happened, we all got a chance to jump and it was a really fantastic experience.
Clair, who is project assistant for Agenda for Change, decided to organise the jump in memory of her mother Fiona, who died from breast cancer seven years ago at the age of 44.
I wanted to do something extraordinary to acknowledge an amazing and brave woman who had fought cancer for two years previous and to thank the Marie Curie nurses who looked after my mum so well. I put the idea to another adrenalin junky, Liz Morgan, who loved the idea, and it spiralled from there she explained.
Other members of the parachute team were Liz Morgan, Kevin Rump and Simon Hutchinson from the IT department and Lisa Bishop, a data analyst in A&E. They completed the jump at Old Buckenham airfield after some brief training conducted by Geoff Tucker of Tandem Parachuting.
The 'jumpers' wanted to say a big thank you to all the people who sponsored them, Canham Consulting and Studio East Photography for their kind donations, David Went from Marie Curie Cancer Care and Tandem Parachuting.
