The Hospital Charity

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund

We are a local charity benefiting local people who use our hospitals.

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund's main aim is to improve patient, visitor and staff welfare at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Cromer and District Hospital and Jenny Lind Children's Hospital.

Whilst the NHS provides the necessities, the charity funds projects that make the hospital experience a better one for patients, visitors and staff. Your donations are used in many ways, such as toys on the wards to life saving equipment, to supporting different departments or wards, staff or patients, to research, training or equipment

All donations are held in our own charity account which is separate from that of the Trust. We have strict guidelines and procedures to ensure your money is spent complimenting and enhancing the work of the NHS.

Whilst general, unrestricted donations allow us to spend the money where the need is greatest, we understand that you may want to donate towards a specific ward or department.

Please tell us this when making a donation.

Our registered charity number is 1048170.

This is the main charity of the trust but we are extremely grateful for the support of many other charities and organisations that support our work including our two Friends organisations.

Friends of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (registered charity no. 1130560)

The Friends have supported the work of the hospital for many years by providing additional funding, support and amenities. The work undertaken by the Friends is entirely voluntary and includes:

• providing services which enhance the well-being of patients and staff
• raising funds for the purchase of medical equipment and provision of amenities for the added comfort of the patients.

The work of the Friends is financed by donations and various fundraising activities. These activities are organised by both the Friends and by interested members of the public whose efforts reflect the affection and respect held for hospital.

If you would like to make a donation to the Friends, please make cheques payable to 'Friends of NNUH' and send to Finance Office, 20 Rouen Road, Norwich, NR1 1QQ.

Cromer Community and Hospital Friends - CCAHF (registered charity no. 262666)

CCAHF an entirely voluntary organisation that exists to support Cromer Hospital and Benjamin Court in Cromer, with the provision of additional equipment and amenities. It does this by raising funds through voluntary donations and fundraising activities. We are particularly keen to provide items that enable patients to receive medical investigations and treatment at Cromer rather than having to travel to a hospital further away.
