Professional Profile:  Since 2005 Erika has been National Clinical Lead, and subsequently National Clinical Director, for Imaging at the Department of Health. She leads a complex programme of work which has delivered considerable additional capacity for NHS imaging services and marked reduction in waiting times across imaging. Her work has included projects on Cancer, Paediatric, Interventional, Cardiac and Forensic imaging. She has lead the deployment of PACS systems across the NHS and been an active member of the Clinical Executive Team at Connecting for Health as part of her role as Medical Director for PACS. She provides advice on imaging to all government departments and ministers.

Erika has been Chairman of the Royal College of Radiologist Breast Group and a Vice President and subsequently President of the UK Radiological Congress. Prior to her national role she was Divisional Clinical Director for support services in Norwich and also head of the Norwich Radiology Academy and head of training in Norwich.

Erika maintains her academic interests with ongoing research at the University of East Anglia where she is Honorary professor and research collaborations with many other centres. She continues to teach locally and nationally and was an editor of part of the e-Learning component of the integrated training initiative.
