Overview

NNUH and UEA are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and probity in the conduct of research.  The aim of this SOP is to describe the principles responsibilities and procedures to be followed when there has been an allegation made related to misconduct or fraud in conducting research within NNUH and UEA. It is established in accordance with ICH GCP the Medicines for Human Use Clinical Trials Regulations 2004 the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research 2017 .  It outlines the process to be followed locally for the reporting and investigation of allegations of fraud and misconduct.

Clinical Guidelines
This guideline has been approved by the Trust's Clinical Guidelines Assessment Panel as an aid to the diagnosis and management of relevant patients and clinical circumstances. Not every patient or situation fits neatly into a standard guideline scenario and the guideline must be interpreted and applied in practice in the light of prevailing clinical circumstances, the diagnostic and treatment options available and the professional judgement, knowledge and expertise of relevant clinicians. It is advised that the rationale for any departure from relevant guidance should be documented in the patient's case notes.
