Norwich Biorepository (formerly known as the Human Tissue Bank)
The Partners in Cancer Research Tissue Bank, established with financial assistance from the Big C Appeal, is a valuable resource allowing collaborative research with colleagues at the University of East Anglia (UEA) into basic (molecular) mechanisms of disease.
As medicine becomes more sophisticated, the Biorepository and the technologies with which it is associated will become increasingly important in routine clinical practice. It is, therefore, a considerable advantage to us to have developed such facilities and to have close links with colleagues at UEA who are interested in the molecular basis of disease. There are also opportunities to provide material for researchers in academic and other institutions elsewhere in this country or abroad.
The Norwich Biorepository is fully compliant with the regulations laid down by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA).
