Broadly Active

Broadly Active Exercise Referral Scheme is an individualised exercise programme. It must be prescribed by your doctor, nurse, physiotherapist or pharmacist. It can help with conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, high cholesterol, anxiety and depression and low back pain.

Dance to Health

Dance to Health is a new, nationwide pioneering falls prevention dance programme for older people. Combining evidence-based physiotherapy with the creativity and energy of dance.

Available in Norfolk and online.

Exercise Referral Scheme

The Exercise Referral Scheme is aimed at adults aged 16+ with a medical or long term health condition that would benefit from increased physical activity. Includes gym based programmes, exercise classes, water-based exercise and supervised health walks. Suitable for adults with high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, high cholesterol, anxiety, back pain and stress.

Please note that the referral form must be taken to and discussed with your doctor, nurse, physiotherapist or pharmacist.

EXTEND Exercise

EXTEND is a National Organisation, who run exercise classes at many locations throughout Norfolk and the UK. The classes run in a variety of settings, from village halls and sports centres to nursing homes. Classes are suitable for people with a disability and the older person to challenge their fitness levels, from the very active to the not so active. Exercises can include seated exercises and movement to music.

Family & Fitness in later life

A welcoming, supportive and popular programme of activities for the over fifties, and includes everything from yoga to walking football, gentle stretching to Zumba Gold. The Fitness In Later Life (FILL) offers you the chance to develop a positive, healthy and active lifestyle amongst people with similar interests. Feel good fitness

Feel Good Fitness involves exercise and wellbeing sessions including pilates, exercise and massage. Sessions aim to improve your posture, balance, strength and flexibility. Claire Gurney is a qualified Pilates and fitness instructor. She can help you to stay healthy and improve your fitness, through exercise and advice, specific to you, your health and your goals.

Goalball Norfolk

Goalball is a game played by two teams of three players.  It is open to both male and female visually impaired athletes, and sighted players can also play domestically. Goalball Norwich is suitable for adults and children.

Inclusive Multi-Sport Club

The UEA SportsParks Inclusive Sports Club (drop-in) run weekly and welcomes disabled groups, disabled individuals (16+) and their carers. The club offers many activities from yoga and dance to badminton and athletics.

Sport Action for women after cancer

Sport Action for Women After Cancer or After Cancer Exercise (ACE) is a group organised to help all those diagnosed with, or recovering from cancer to get fit, meet others in the same situation and either learn a new sport or renew their sporting activities. Sessions include badminton, yoga and aqua stretch and are also available for men.

The Garage

Whether you are returning to something you once loved, or want to explore new things, our classes for adults offer a wide choice of dance genres, as well as classes in theatre and singing. Walking for Health

Walking for health walks are led by friendly, specially trained volunteers who are on hand to provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind. The walks are short and over easy terrain, and are open to everyone but are especially aimed at those who are least active.
