02.05.03 – The Department of Health has confirmed that 5,229 members of staff with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust and its support staff will each get a £500 bonus (pro rata for part-timers) after hitting 17 out of 20 Team Bonus targets.

The Department of Health has confirmed that the trust successfully hit 17 of its 20 Team Bonus targets and staff are therefore due to get a £500 bonus (minus income tax and National Insurance) later this month.

A total of 5,229 hospital staff were eligible for the bonus payment which is coming directly from the Department of Health’s own NHS Performance Fund.

The year-long Department of Health Team Bonus pilot scheme involved all hospital staff working towards 20 targets designed to improve and modernise patient services at our hospitals.

Trust chief executive Stephen Day said: “As one of only 10 hospital trusts selected from around the country by the Department of Health to take part in this pilot, I am delighted staff are being rewarded for all their efforts in improving our services for patients.

“I would like to stress the money being paid to our staff as a reward for their considerable achievements has been provided directly by the Department of Health and has in no way been diverted from local funding for health services.”
