Director of Nursing and Education Appointed

The Board of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust is pleased to announce that Christine Baxter, currently Nursing Director at Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust, has been appointed Director of Nursing and Education for the Norfolk and Norwich.
Christine has been Nursing Director at Gwent, a large integrated NHS trust with 12,500 staff providing acute, community and mental health services, since 2001. Prior to that she was Director of Nursing at Rotherham General Hospital NHS Trust, and Deputy Chief Nurse at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham. She succeeds Margaret Coomber, who retired in July.
Christine said: I am very pleased to be joining the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust. I have seen for myself the fantastic hospital facilities that Norfolk has and I’m excited about leading the nursing staff, improving the quality of the care we offer patients and further developing the very good reputation of the country’s newest teaching hospital.
Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust chief executive Paul Forden said: We are delighted to be able to appoint Christine. She is very experienced nurse leader and educator and I’m sure she will play an important role in the future direction of the Trust.
