Presentation to the Rheumatology Department at the NNUH

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is to receive a generous gift of artwork and a music system which will brighten up the outpatients department in Rheumatology.

The artwork includes a series of photographs of the Norfolk Coastline taken by Cambridge based photographer Richard Heeps and an oil painting by Norwich based artist Brenda Unwin.

The artwork and piped music system has been kindly donated to the NNUH by a company called documentum, via Lupus UK at the request of the Seth Donaldson Trust.

Lupus UK have so far committed £15,000 to the Rheumatology department at the NNUH, which to date has also included monies for a blood pressure machine, 2 examination couches and £5,000 towards research funding.

Professor David Scott, consultant Rheumatologist said “we are very grateful to Lupus UK and the Seth Donaldson Trust, for their support of the Rheumatology department, which will make for a better patient environment.  It is also important to our staff to get recognition for their dedication and hard work.”

Notes to editors
Seth Donaldson raised monies for Lupus UK after a close family member and patient of the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital was diagnosed with lupus.  Seth Donaldson died in 2000 when he was working in London for an American company called documentumdocumentum generously donated about £15-£20,000 to Lupus UK after the funeral notice indicated that donations could be made to them.  Lupus UK asked the family what they would like to do with the money and they suggested they would like to give it to the Rheumatology Department.  Seth Donaldson had run twice in the London Marathon to raise money for Lupus UK because of the family connection with this disease.
