Hospital director swaps boardroom for bucket and mop

Director of Resources, Anna Dugdale, is swapping the boardroom for the shop floor for the day as part of the NHS Think Clean Day on Monday 28th February.

Anna will be working as a cleaner in Norfolk’s biggest hospital in a bid to raise the importance of the need to keep hospitals clean.

NHS Think Clean Day is a national initiative taking place in many NHS Trusts across the country. The aim of the day is to raise the profile of cleaning and demonstrate what can be achieved in a short time.

Anna Dugdale said “This is a key opportunity for us to make all colleagues, patients and visitors aware that it is everyone’s responsibility to think about the hospital environment and help to keep it clean”.

There are other events taking place at the NNUH on the day including a “Glow and Tell” machine at entrances to the hospital where staff, patients and relatives can see how clean their hands are and a series of presentations on “Cleanliness in the Patient Environment”.

There will also be various displays in the East Atrium including a display of the software used to conduct performance assessments of the patient environment particularly around cleanliness issues in the hospital.
