NNUH consultants take national lead

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital ear, nose and throat consultant Mr Paul Montgomery will be taking up a lead role nationally in modernising a key NHS diagnostic service.

Professor Sue Hill, Chief Scientific Officer, has invited Mr Montgomery to be the consultant clinical champion for audiology services in the national physiological measurement project. He will be supporting Professor Hill and advising the Department of Health on audiological issues.

Mr Montgomery's work nationally follows in the footsteps of NNUH consultant urologist Mr Ralph Webb. Mr Webb is the consultant clinical champion for uro-dynamics in the national physiological measurement project.

NNUH chief executive Paul Forden said: “This is type of role nationally is very important and we would like to congratulate Paul and Ralph on their contribution to this important national project.”

Mr Montgomery said: “It is a great privilege to be asked to be involved with this important work.”

Both Mr Montgomery and Mr Webb continue to work as a consultants with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust.
