Prestigious medical editor to lecture at NNUH
The editor of a prestigious medical journal is visiting the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to lecture on how the media reports on medical research papers.
The talk by Dr Richard Horton, editor of The Lancet, is entitled “The Nightmares of a Middle Aged Medical Editor”. Dr Horton has been invited to NNUH to give a lunchtime lecture by the hospital's Consultant Staff Committee.
Consultant Staff Committee chairman Dr Magdi Naguib said: “We are delighted that Dr Horton has accepted our invitation to give a talk at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. His talk will include a review of recent activity in the medical press and how to deal with it.”
Dr Horton also gave a very successful, well-received and dynamic presentation on “Is there a future for doctors?” as part of the BA Festival of Science held in Norwich last September.
The lecture takes place in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre, East Atrium, NNUH, at 1pm on Wednesday 21st February. Entrance is free and open to the public.
