New nurses and theatre staff recruited for NNUH

Newly qualified nurses and operating theatre staff who are graduating from the University of East Anglia (UEA) will be joining the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital next month.

There are 38 adult nurses who will be qualifying from the UEA's School of Nursing and Midwifery and will be joining Norwich's university hospital next month, working in a variety of wards and clinical settings.

A total of 13 operating department practitioners (ODPs), who care for patients before, during and after surgery, are also being taken on after qualifying from UEA. They work as part of a team with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses.

Director of Nursing and Education Christine Baxter said: “We are in the very lucky position as a university hospital to be able to work closely with the UEA and to recruit the vast majority of their graduates.”
