David Wright reappointed as non-executive director

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust Chairman David Prior was today pleased to announce that David Wright has been appointed to serve another term as a non-executive director by the NHS Appointments Commission.

David Wright is a former director of social services at Norfolk County Council. David is Chairman of Crossroads Caring for Carers, a national organisation providing care for carers, Chairman of the Priscilla Bacon Support Group, and Trustee of the Norfolk Community Foundation

David is also a committee member of the General Social Care Council and has advised the Russian government on social care issues. He was first appointed in October 2003 by the NHS Appointments Commission for a four-year term. His new term runs until 2011.

The appointments have been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments Code of Practice. All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the Nolan recommendations there is a requirement for appointees political activity to be made public.

The appointment has been made for the period 1st November to 31st October 2011 and carries remuneration of £5,875 a year. David Wright has no other ministerial appointments and no declared political activity in the last five years.
