Communications team shortlisted in national finals

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital's Communications team has been shortlisted in the national Chartered Institute of Public Relations President's Grand Prix awards.

The finals are being held in Birmingham on March 6 and follow the hospital team winning three Gold awards in the East Anglian finals held in December 2007. The hospital team won Gold in the following categories:

– Outstanding In-house Public Relations Team
– Best Crisis Communications, NICU PVL Outbreak
– Best Not-for-Profit campaign, Bowel Cancer Screening

The university hospital team will be competing, in the three categories above, against the winners from the 10 other nations and regions in the CIPR President's Grand Prix awards next month.

CIPR President Elisabeth Lewis-Jones said: “The Grand Prix Awards are all about celebrating the good PR work being carried out across the UK; celebrating the contribution public relations makes to business and society; and celebrating the sharing of best practice and the raising of industry standards.

The CIPR award wins follows success for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital team in October 2007 in the national Association of Healthcare Communicators awards. The hospital team won the AHC awards in the categories of:

– Crisis Management Award, NICU PVL Outbreak
– Best Campaign Award, Bowel Cancer Screening

The NNUH communications team is comprised of Sue Jones, Hayley Gerrard, Janice Bradfield and Andrew Stronach.
