Norfolk and Norwich appoints first GP Liaison Manager
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Rebecca Perry to a new post dedicated to strengthening links with local General Practitioners.
Rebecca, 39, has joined the Norfolk and Norwich from a role as marketing manager at South Thames College and she has previously worked in similar GP liaison roles for the BMI Healthcare group in Nottingham and London.
Chairman David Prior said: “It is essential for our hospitals to work very closely with the General Practitioners who refer their patients to us and to ensure that we meet both their needs and the needs of their patients. Over the past decade there has been quite an expansion in our services, and our consultant staff, and we want to build better links with GPs to ensure we deliver the best possible service.”
Rebecca Perry said: “Working within both the private and public sector has given me a varied career to date. I worked for BMI Healthcare for many years in two of their hospitals in Nottingham and north London. These roles involved making GPs aware of our services, improving communications with GPs and Consultants, and engaging with a wide range of other stakeholders.”
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust last year treated more than 650,000 patients and serves around 100 GP practices in Norfolk and north Suffolk. Last month the Healthcare Commission revealed patients rate the quality of care offered by the trust as the best in the country out of all general acute hospitals.
