Local hospital gives talk about reducing infections such as MRSA
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is giving a talk on how it is tackling hospital acquired infections and how patients can protect their own health.
The event is aimed at the public and is being held from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday 8th July 2008 in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital at Colney Lane in Norwich.
The keynote speaker is Dr Judith Richards, Consultant Medical Microbiologist at the NNUH, who will be describing how the rate of infections is being reduced and how patients, visitors and the public can help.
Dr Richards said: The NHS has made great reductions in the number of hospital acquired infections and the public can help us to reduce those figures further. People can take simple steps, such as washing their hands regularly and taking note of the visiting rules for hospitals.
