Health Check reports NNUH as a top performer
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust has been judged by the Healthcare Commission as among the top performing NHS Trusts in the region.
The Healthcare Commission 2007/08 annual health check looks at quality of care, achievements against NHS targets, and use of resources. The possible ratings range from Weak, Fair, Good or Excellent.
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust was judged as a Good performer for quality of care and Excellent for use of resources. This result means the Trusts performance was amongst the best in the region among NHS Trusts. This strong record of performance in 2007/08 contributed to the Trust's achievement of NHS Foundation Trust status in May 2008.
Acting Chief Executive Anna Dugdale said: This rating is a testament to the hard work and expertise of all our staff. Their dedication and the high quality of care we provide our patients have all contributed to the achievement of NHS Foundation Trust status six months ago. We are already focusing on the opportunities for further improvements in the quality of our services”.
