Membership rises to over 20,000

More than 20,000 people are members of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust following a recent recruitment campaign. The Trust has over 13,300 public members and nearly 7,000 staff members at both Cromer Hospital and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

A year ago the members elected a Council of Governors which meets quarterly with its next meeting due to take place at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital from 10am – 1pm on Tuesday 24th March 2009. The purpose of the council is to give local people a greater say in the future of services at the Trust.

At the next meeting, the Governors will be finding out more about the plan for services over the next year, plus finding out how the Trust deals with patient complaints. There is also be a regular update on how the Trust is performing.

All NHS Foundation Trusts have a Council of Governors which represents the views of patients, public and staff. The Trust's council meets quarterly and is involved in decisions about the future of health services at both Cromer Hospital and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

As space is limited, members of the public interested in attending the meeting should contact the Membership Office on 01603 287634 or e-mail membership@nnuh.nhs.uk
