Walk a mile and raise money for arthritis research
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking local people who have had orthopaedic surgery or treatment for arthritis to walk a mile and raise money for arthritis research.
The annual Norwich Orthopaedic walk takes place this year on June 21st at The Lower School, Bishopgate, Norwich, between 12.30pm and 4pm with the walk at 2pm. There will also be fun for all the family with music, food, raffles, prizes and entertainment.
The walk is to raise funds for Action Arthritis which is a local charity raising money for research into arthritic conditions affecting the local population.
Mr John Albert, Trauma and Orthopaedics Consultant at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, says: “We aim to provide the best care for local patients with arthritis and this fundraising event helps us to carry out research into the latest treatments.”
Each year a large number of people who have had surgery for trauma or a joint replacement take part in the walk. Anyone interested in taking part should contact Clare Darrah clare.darrah@nnuh.nhs.uk or telephone 01603 286706.
