Communications team shortlisted for national award
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital's Communications team has been shortlisted for a national award by the Association of Healthcare Communicators (AHC).
The hospital team has been shortlisted for its work on the Staff Award scheme which was entered in the best internal communications category in the Communicating Health Awards. The winners will be announced at the AHC national conference which take place in Cardiff on 3rd June, attracting delegates from across the country.
Senior Communications Manager Janice Bradfield said: “This was such a rewarding project to work on and the feedback we have received from patients shows just how much appreciation there is for our staff and the care they provide. To also receive national recognition for this project is such a compliment”.
The hospitals Staff Award scheme was set up in 2008, attracting nearly 300 nominations from patients and staff. It aims to recognise those special employees who go the extra mile in providing care at both the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Cromer Hospital. The scheme is supported by the Eastern Daily Press and sponsored by the hospitals service provider Serco.
After a successful first year, the hospital Staff Awards have been established as an annual event. The nominations for 2009 have opened and patients and staff are being invited to nominate the nurse, midwife, doctor, therapist, receptionist or other staff member who has shown exceptional kindness, professional expertise or expert patient care.
