Hospital AGM this week

Members of the public are invited to attend the annual general meeting for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Please note there are only places available at the evening session which starts at 6pm.

The AGM takes place at 6pm on Thursday 24th September in the Gooch Lecture Theatre, East Atrium, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Colney Lane. The afternoon session is already fully booked and 200 people are expected to attend.

There will be a review of the year followed by presentations on:

• Quality and Patient Safety by Mr Krishna Sethia, Consultant Urologist and Medical Director

• “Plastic Surgery – It’s not just nip and tuck” by Mr Richard Haywood, Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

These will be followed by an open question and answer session and there will also be a chance to speak to staff on an individual basis. Tea and coffee will be available in the East Atrium before the event starts.

David Prior, Chairman of the Trust, says: “This is an opportunity for the public to find out more about our hospitals and also join as a member.  Membership gives Norfolk people a bigger say in how we run our services and helps us to keep in touch with their views.  We have over 20,000 members, including our staff, and we would like to encourage more local people to join us.”

All NHS Foundation Trusts have members.  Membership of the Trust is free and open to anyone aged over 12 years old living in Norfolk or Waveney. Members can receive the Trust’s newsletter and have the opportunity to get involved in areas that interest them.  To join as a member, either go online at www.nnuh.nhs.uk or ring 01603 287634.

A few places are still available at the 6pm to 8pm AGM session which takes place in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre at NNUH.  To book a place, ring 01603 287634 or e-mail communications@nnuh.nhs.uk
