Hospital Communications team shortlisted for award
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital's Communications team has been shortlisted for a top Chartered Institute of Public Relations award.
The hospital team has been shortlisted in the regional Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide awards in the category of internal communications for its work on the Staff Awards scheme. The East Anglian final is due to be held on 7th December 2009 at the Radisson SAS Hotel, London Stansted Airport.
Senior Communications Manager Janice Bradfield said: “We ran the staff awards scheme for the first time in 2008 and it has been such a success that we have repeated it again in 2009. The nominations we receive from patients are heartwarming and show just how much appreciation there is for our staff and the care they provide”.
The hospitals Staff Award scheme was set up in 2008, attracting nearly 300 nominations from patients and staff. It aims to recognise those special employees who go the extra mile in providing care at both the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Cromer Hospital. The scheme is supported by the Easter Daily Press and sponsored by the hospitals service provider Serco.
After a successful first year, the hospital Staff Awards have been established as an annual event. Over 500 nominations were received for the 2009 Staff Awards where patients and staff nominated the nurse, midwife, doctor, therapist, receptionist or other staff member who had shown exceptional kindness, professional expertise or expert patient care.
The NNUH Communications team is comprised of Janice Bradfield, Hayley Gerrard, Sue Jones and Andrew Stronach.
