Hospital runs recruitment day for nursing staff

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is holding a recruitment day this Saturday for anyone interested in returning to practice as a registered nurse as well as those interested in joining our Nurse Bank.

The NNUH is currently looking to recruit staff to our Nurse Bank and to substantive positions in a variety of medical and surgical wards. A strong sense of teamwork and commitment to maintaining high standards of care and efficient service delivery is essential to these positions. We can offer competitive salaries and holiday entitlement starting at 27 days (pro rata) and a final salary pension scheme.

Lynn Mason, Nurse Bank Manager said “This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in either returning to work as a nurse or wishing to join our Nurse Bank to come along and find out more”.

We offer development programmes, including preceptorship, as well as an in-house supervised practice programme for nurses with a live NMC registration who need to update their acute care skills. For nurses who need to undertake a return to practice programme, we work in partnership with the UEA.

A two week induction training programme is available to applicants for Health Care Assistant posts who have not worked in an acute setting before.

The hospital is also running an event for nursing or therapy staff intertsed on working on the Gunthorpe acute stroke unit. The unit has undergone a transformation this year. As a result of significant investment in the service the NNUH stroke team provides a 24/7 stroke thrombolysis service and now has hyper-acute monitoring.

The recruitment day is aimed at registered nurses, Band 2 healthcare assistants, and physiotherapy assistants and takes place on Gunthorpe ward on the morning of Saturday 21 November 2009 between 9.30am and 11.30am.

If you are you looking for an exciting new challenge then why not come along and find out more about this range of exciting opportunities on Saturday 21 November between 9.30 and 2.30 p.m. in the East Atrium, Level 1 at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This event is in addition to the specific recruitment event being arranged at the hospital on behalf of the Stroke Unit which is being held between 9.30 – 11.30 on the same day.
