Free workplace health event for Norfolk businesses

Business leaders are being invited to an open day on how to improve workplace health which is being held from 11.30am to 3pm on Tuesday 23rd November at 20 Rouen Road, Norwich.

The event is being run by Workplace Health and Wellbeing – formerly known as the Centre for Occupational Health which has been supporting East Anglian businesses for 15 years.

Wendy Goode, Occupational Health Manager at Workplace Health and Wellbeing, said:  “We have focused on the changing needs of our customers and re-branded our service, moved to new premises and we are in the process of revising our IT system.

“To mark this change and to celebrate our recent relocation to newly refurbished premises in the city centre, we are hosting our first ever open day, giving businesses the opportunity to come and see for themselves some of the services we offer. There will be practical demonstrations, a small exhibition and mini seminars on offer, plus lunch for those attending.”

Employers will be able to find out more about boosting productivity, reducing sickness absence, assessing the cost of ill-health to business, and how to improve manual handling techniques.

Workplace Health and Wellbeing will also be demonstrating how its new IT system will improve the delivery of occupational health services including a chance to see the system in action.

At the event, there will be nursing and medical staff on hand to provide free personal mini-health checks with the opportunity for visitors to test their lung capacity and take part in a competition to win a health and wellbeing hamper.

Three mini-seminars will be held on managing mental health conditions in the workplace, getting the right advice from a management referral and the benefits of managing health in the workplace.  To find out more about the free, mini seminars and book a place, email pamela.duncan@nnuh.nhs.uk
