NNUH is most followed hospital on Twitter

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has become the most followed NHS hospital in the country with more than 2,000 Twitter followers.

And the hospital's use of Twitter has led to a shortlisting in the regional Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Pride awards in the categories of Best Use of Digital PR. The hospital's Twitter site, twitter.com/nnuh currently has 2,161 followers.

The hospital's communications team has also been shortlisted for Best Magazine for the hospital publication, The Pulse. The final is held on 3rd November at Dunston Hall, Norwich.

Head of Communications Andrew Stronach said: “Being shortlisted for these awards is a real tribute to the small but excellent team we have. It is ever more important that the NHS communicates well with the public and media and we are always looking at ways of improving our communications with the public, our staff, and our NHS Foundation Trust members.”

The NNUH Communications team is comprised of Janice Bradfield, Hayley Gerrard, Sue Jones and Andrew Stronach.
