Governors reappoint David Prior as chairman

The Council of Governors of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has unanimously reappointed David Prior as Chairman for a three-year term.

David Prior was first appointed Chairman of the trust in November 2002. David is a barrister and has broad experience at a senior level in the business world. He was the Conservative MP for North Norfolk from 1997 to 2001.

Mr Prior was appointed Chairman for the period from April 2011 to April 2014. Lead Governor Prof Ken Hobbs said: “We consulted widely with people both within the trust and amongst organisations with whom we have close associations. I am delighted that David has been reappointed, the Governors were unanimously in favour of it, and their collective view was endorsed by all the soundings we took.”

David Prior said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been reappointed as Chairman of the trust. It is a wonderful organisation with a great many exceptional people providing first class healthcare to thousands of patients from Norfolk and beyond. I have had many jobs in my career but in no other have I come across so many people with such a remarkable combination of talent, hard work and passion. I love my job and it is a great privilege for me to be asked to carry on doing it.”
