Morgan Sindall Helps Norwich Cots for Tots Appeal

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) is a step closer to realising the expansion of its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) thanks to Morgan Sindall plc.

The leading construction and infrastructure company raised £5,000 for the hospital’s Norwich Cots for Tots appeal, after it held a fundraising pub quiz at the Oaklands Hotel in Norwich.

Morgan Sindall invited more than 25 teams to battle for the quiz prize. A raffle held on the night also helped raise funds for the cause.

The NICU is a highly specialist unit looking after the needs of premature and critically ill babies and is one of the busiest units in the region, caring for more than 850 babies a year.

NNUH is hoping to raise £500,000 to buy four new cots for the NICU which will provide vital support for vulnerable infants.

Matt Laskey, business development manager at Morgan Sindall, says: “The neonatal unit is crucial for the growing number of new-born babies born at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital each year needing specialist care. The appeal’s goal is to create four new cots which will significantly help local families and we’re delighted to support this very worthy cause.”

Mark Dyke, consultant neonatologist at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, says: “We’re very grateful to Morgan Sindall for organising the quiz night and the fantastic amount which was raised. Every donation we receive makes a difference to us and the babies who benefit from the care of the NICU.”

Morgan Sindall is currently installing a new MRI unit at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
