NNUH Fete raises £23,000 for charity
A record 6,000 visitors attended the Open Day and Fete at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on 18th June 2011, raising nearly £23,000 for the Norwich Cots for Tots appeal.
The event was held to celebrate 10 years at the Colney Lane site and visitors were able to see what goes on behind the scenes at the hospital, take part in games and activities at the fete and visit the careers fair. There was also a Battle of Britain flypast in the afternoon.
Chairman David Prior said: We are delighted that so many people could join us on the day and provide such a boost for our Norwich Cots for Tots appeal.”
About 40 NHS staff took part in a 5km run as part of the celebration. The run was organised by Active Norfolk and BBC TV sports presenter Jake Humphrey was on hand to give out medals.
A raffle held as part of the 10 year celebration raised £7,000 towards the £23,000 total with prizes donated by event sponsor Fujifilm and local businesses.
