NNUH employee in Miss England final
Amy Spinks, who works as a Theatre Support Worker for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, is entering the Miss England finals on 18th/19th July after qualifying as Miss Norwich.
Amy lives in Hellesdon, Norwich, and has just got her fitness back after fracturing her spine in 2004 while competing in a long jump competition. She was unable to exercise or compete for around 4 years.
Amy says: It has taken a lot for me to get back into the gym and build up my strength, but after years of determination I am now able to do most exercises without feeling pain and have got my fitness back on track.”
She has also raised money for charity, raising £2000 for EACH (East Anglian Childrens Hospice) as well as raising over £1000 for a school in Kenya. Amy has also worked with a local school for children with special needs, getting the children involved in sporting activities such as football.
The public is able to vote for the Miss England finalists from today. Amy says: Im really proud to be representing Norwich and hope people will be able to support me in the Miss England finals.”
