Carers' Cafe at NNUH next week
The next monthly Carers Café takes place at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on Wednesday 10th August from 4pm to 6pm in the hospitals East Atrium.
It is being run with the help of the Norwich and District Carers Forum which will have representatives on hand to give advice on a range of subjects such as money issues and sources of support.
Refreshments will be available and the Carers Café is open to anyone who cares for a friend or relative. It is being trialled at different times of the day to see what suits carers.
NNUHs Assistant Director of Nursing Dawn Collins, says The Carers Café is becoming a regular monthly event at the hospital where carers can ask for help and talk to the nursing staff.”
Christine Butler, from Norwich and District Carers Forum, said: Our role is to help carers with practical issues, such as claiming benefits, coping with stress and relationship changes.”
The Carers Café is part of a strategy to support carers which involves improved staff awareness and training for carers.
