Clocking on for a charity car wash

Wondering what to do with the extra hour you have when the clocks go back, then why not volunteer to take part in the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) charity car wash in aid of the Norwich Cots for Tots Appeal on Sunday 30th October from 10.00am – 1.00pm.

Staff from the NNUH will be donating their extra hour to take part in this charity car wash, a fun event which will also raise money for a good cause. Volunteers are also being sought and anyone interested should contact our Volunteers Office on 01603 286060.

Sally Knights, Volunteer Services Manager at the NNUH said “If anyone has thought about volunteering but not sure where to start then this event may be a good place to find out how much fun can be had by volunteering, whilst putting something back into the local community and raising funds all at the same time.

“Or if you don't fancy volunteering, instead of taking your car to your usual place – or maybe you want to treat your car to it's annual car wash – then why not bring it to us and well wash if for you for a small donation of £3 per car and help us raise funds at the same time. The car wash will be taking place on car park A at the NNUH, just follow the signs from the Colney Lane roundabout”.

This fundraiser is also part of BBC Radio Norfolk's campaign “Happy Hour” to encourage people to give up an hour of their time to help their local community.

Chris Goreham, BBC Radio Norfolk presenter said “Having seen the great work and the difference being made by volunteers at the NNUH, I've realised that the most valuable commodity we all have is time. Plus, my car is very dirty so any opportunity to get somebody else to clean it is not to be missed!”
