Talent from the world of sport, the arts, finance and law join NNUH board

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Chairman David Prior was today pleased to announce that former England cricketer Matthew Fleming, Norwich University College Arts (NUCA) deputy principal Angela Robson, and lawyer Mark Jeffries have been appointed non-executive directors.

The trio has been appointed as non-executive directors by the Council of Governors of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with effect from 1 November 2011.

Matthew Fleming is a former soldier, a professional cricketer who captained Kent and played for England, a Director in the family firm, Fleming Family and Partners, and is also a Governor at Ormiston Victory Academy in Costessey.

Angela Robson is a chartered accountant who has worked with J P Morgan and Goldman Sachs and is now Deputy Principal of Norwich University College of the Arts. Mrs Robson is a Governor of Open Academy Heartsease and Chair of Norfolk Showground Ltd. and a trustee of the Theatre Royal.

Mark Jeffries is a solicitor and the senior partner at Mills & Reeve, a leading firm of solicitors. Mr Jeffries is also a director of the Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and a trustee of the Norfolk Community Foundation.

Chairman David Prior said: “I am delighted our Governors have appointed Matthew, Angela and Mark. They bring strong complementary skills to our Board, have all had successful professional careers, and all hold a strong commitment to the local community.”

The new non-executive directors will receive a remuneration of £12,500 a year.
