Latest CQC report on standards at NNUH

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published a report after a follow-up inspection at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Seven outcomes were reviewed against national standards

The report highlighted many positive aspects of care including improvements to the way in which the nutritional needs of patients are met.

Director of Nursing Nick Coveney said: “We were encouraged to see that the CQC inspectors have noted the improvements made in meeting patients' nutritional needs and that the changes we have made have improved services for patients.”

In conclusion, the results of the CQC inspection were that six out of seven outcomes audited at the hospital were compliant with a moderate non-compliance in record keeping. Work is already in progress to improve the completeness and accuracy of patient records.

Chief Executive Anna Dugdale said: “We are delighted with the results of the recent CQC inspection which recognised our commitment to constantly improving our services. Our challenge is to ensure that they are of a consistently high standard. We have work to do to improve our record keeping and that will be our immediate focus.”
