Last chance to vote in our Staff Awards 2012

Patients have until 30th June to nominate the staff member who has gone the extra mile in providing their care. Nearly 400 nominations have been received so far in the annual staff awards which cover the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Cromer Hospital.

The Patient Choice award enables patients to nominate those staff who provide exceptional kindness, professional expertise or expert patient care. There are also nine categories where staff can nominate colleagues for qualities such as leadership, innovation and lifetime achievement.

David Prior, Chairman of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, says: “The awards recognise those special colleagues who go above and beyond the call of duty in helping our patients and providing that extra care which makes all the difference when we are unwell.”

The awards have been sponsored by Serco which provides a range of services at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, including catering and cleaning. The Patient Choice Award is backed by the Eastern Daily Press and the Innovation/Best Suggestion award is backed by Octagon.

The Unsung Hero award for non-clinical staff, such as medical secretaries and administrative staff, is being sponsored for the first time this year by David Batchelor in memory of his late wife Denise Batchelor who worked as a medical secretary at NNUH.

To nominate a member of hospital staff, either pick up a leaflet from the NNUH or call 01603 287634 or go to: www.nnuh.nhs.uk
