Get inspired to cycle 77 miles from Cambridge to Norwich
If youre inspired by Britain's Bradley Wiggins wearing the famous yellow jersey in this years Tour de France, then why not take part in the Cambridge to Norwich Cycle Ride and raise money for the NNUH's charity.
Entries are now open for the 77 mile route which is taking place on Sunday 30th September 2012 to help raise funds for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) charity.
Starting from Cambridge's Midsummer Common the route will head east through a landscape of fenland and farmland before finishing at NNUH. You can take part either as an individual or as a team of six. This event is being organised by Bike Events and you can enter by visiting http://www.bike-events.co.uk/Ride.aspx?id=339.
Last year 1000 people took part and a total of £33,000 raised in sponsorship was donated to the charity. The money was spent on a new incubator cot for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at NNUH.
Beth Coley, NNUH Fundraising Manager said: This event raises the profile of cycling as means of staying fit and healthy as well as a fun way of getting about. Were very grateful to those who are taking part in this cycle ride and for getting behind our hospital charity. Every amount of sponsorship, no matter its size, will make a real difference to our patients, their friends and families.
