NNUH rated excellent for food, cleanliness and privacy and dignity

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital offers patients excellent standards of cleanliness, food, and privacy and dignity, according to the results of an annual inspection which have been released today.

Patient representatives, members of the public and NHS staff carry out the Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) assessments which test whether aspects of patient care reach high quality standards.

PEAT assessments were carried out at the Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital earlier this year and examined the standards in the key categories of food, dignity and privacy and cleanliness of the hospital. NHS trusts are given scores from 1 (unacceptable) to 5 (excellent) in each area. NNUH scored top in all categories.

Chief Executive Anna Dugdale said: “These are great results that show how well our teams are working to deliver an excellent service for patients. We are committed to ensuring our patients enjoy the highest standards of cleanliness, catering, and privacy and dignity during their stay in hospital, and we are constantly setting ourselves higher standards for all aspects of our patients’ care.”
