NNUH radiographer receives top accolade

A Norfolk radiographer has been chosen as the Eastern Region Radiographer of the Year.

Jenny Tomes, Head of Radiotherapy at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been given the award for her commitment to excellence and placing patients at the centre of all activities.

Jenny will receive her award from The Society and College of Radiographers at a ceremony taking place on 8th November at the House of Commons. She has also been and shortlisted for the National Award of 'Radiographer of the Year 2012’ and will find out if she has been successful at the ceremony.

NNUH Chief Executive Anna Dugdale, said: “Jenny has successfully led the radiotherapy team for eight years, showing dedicated professionalism and always placing patients at the centre of her work. We are very pleased to have such a highly regarded professional working at our hospital.”

The Radiotherapy Service at NNUH is based at the hospital’s Colney Centre where the team provides radiotherapy treatment for about 200 cancer patients each month.
