NNUH holds events for Carers Week
Carers Week takes place from 10th to 16th June 2013 when the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital will be linking with local charities and support organisations to provide advice to carers.
Norfolk Carers Support will be running an information and advice stand in the main hospital restaurant on Wednesday 12th June from 10am to 3pm. It will be followed by the Carers Helpline with a stand from 10am to 2pm on Thursday 13th June. The events are part of the series of information events held at the hospital, including regular information hubs held on key wards.
NNUH will also be joining a number of organisations at a Carers Help event on 10th June at the Forum in Norwich, hosted by Care for Carers.
Director of Nursing Emma McKay says: Carers play a vital role in supporting patients and we want to ensure they get all the information and support they need.
Christine Butler, from Norfolk Carers Support, said: Many carers often struggle on their own and feedback shows they frequently need help with practical issues, such as claiming benefits, coping with stress and relationship changes and emotional support.
