Sign up for charity 5k fun run
Keen and would-be runners are invited to sign up for a 5k charity fun run as part of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) Open Day and Fete on Saturday 29th June raising funds for our Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal.
The run, jointly organised with Active Norfolk, taking place on the Colney Playing Fields, will start at 10:00am and is open to anyone aged 14 or more.
Louise Cook, Fundraising Manager at the NNUH, said: “We are raising money to help local cancer patients so please show your support by taking part in the 5k and enjoying the fete and open day. By joining in and raising money you can make a difference.”
Paul Evans from Active Norfolk said: This fun 5km run is a great example of how everyone can have a bit of fun and keep fit whilst helping to raise money for such a brilliant and local charity.
Runners can be sponsored with funds going to the Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal (TRA). The money raised through the TRA will be used to benefit cancer patients by to providing state-of-the-art facilities for people undergoing internal radiotherapy, known as high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy. The new facilities will allow more patients to benefit from reduced treatment times and also means some patients can be treated closer to home.
